Mobile vehicle inspections

RedBook Inspect is able to conduct physical pre-purchase inspections for cars and caravans within a 50km radius from the following major cities:

Sydney, Newcastle, Central Coast NSW, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth.

Remote Video Assessments (RVA) are available for all other areas.

A RedBook Inspect pre-purchase inspection is a visual and non-mechanical vehicle inspection only. Please refer to following RedBook Inspect FAQs for further details of what checks are not included:

• Pre-purchase inspections for caravans, camper tent trailers, RVs and motorhomes

Once booked a member of the RedBook Inspect team will reach out to the seller to organise a time and date. Typically this occurs with 24 hours or one business day of a booking being made, during peak periods this may be delayed.

Inspections will generally occur within 2 to 3 business days of inspections being booked. Ultimate package options have priority bookings, however this is subject to seller availability, and may also change based on demand for inspections within the service area.

Once scheduled you will then receive a confirmation email with the time of your inspection, and you'll also receive a reminder the day before the inspection.

On the day of the inspection your inspector will attend the site and complete the inspection, usually taking around 60 to 90 minutes with the report being sent through within the following 24 hours.

An RVA is a Remote Video Assessment guided by a RedBook Inspect assessor to help you understand the condition of your next potential vehicle purchase.

Once your RVA is booked, a RedBook Inspect assessor contacts the sellers via video chat to discuss their vehicle. They will then gather additional data. Sellers are guided around the vehicle so they can collect key photos, servicing information, under the hood, tyre close-ups and other relevant items. A detailed report is collated and delivered to your inbox detailing the condition of vehicle's interior, exterior and verification of its compliance plate, build and registration.

RedBook Inspect assessors will also have the ability to question specific elements to identify common problems with the vehicle. If applicable to the vehicle, prospective buyers will also receive a CarFacts history report.
